Since 2017, the Elderly Resources Centre (ERC) of the Housing Society has been collaborated with various organisations and business partners to carry out Home Modification Programmes, with an objective to advocate the concept of Age-Friendly Home in the community in providing a safer, more convenient and barrier-free home living environment for elderly. Our occupational therapists offer free services to elderly with higher falling risks, including assessments for home environment, home modifications and purchase of assistive devices, to facilitate elderly to attain their wish of aging in place.
Aims
- To promote the concept of AFH in the community
- To identify "high risk" elderly and provide home modification services
Target Audience
- Low-income elderly which are owners of private buildings, with high risk of falling, and interested in improving their home safety
